About the Grant

The Facade Improvement Program provides eligible project funding from $3000 up to $34,500 for facade repair and restoration. A 5% match is required and can be satisfied via in-kind monetized amounts for grant application preparation, site plans including approval compilation, estimates, architectural rendering costs, as well as total project cost cash match. The goal of this program is to encourage building restoration, historic preservation, and improved economic vitality by improving building facades. Eligible buildings are commercial and mixed commercial/residential with facades visible from the street. New construction will not be considered for this program.

Assisting with the purchase of an inactive plenary retail consumption liquor license supports the growth and success of New Jersey’s small service businesses. This product aligns with legislation P.L. 2023, c.290 regarding inactive plenary retail consumption liquor licenses and allows NJ small businesses the opportunity to purchase one. This grant will reimburse a NJ small business up to 50% of the cost of the inactive license, not to exceed $100,000.

NASE provides grants of up to $4,000 for small businesses to finance specific business needs such as marketing, advertising, hiring employees, and purchasing equipment. These grants are particularly beneficial for sole proprietors and micro-businesses looking to enhance their operations.

DC Storefront Improvement Grant
DC DHCD

DHCD provides funding to highly qualified community-based non-profit organizations to develop storefront façade improvement projects in low/moderate income retail/commercial areas in the District of Columbia. Typically, a project is comprised of between ten and twenty-five, preferably concentrated within a few blocks, storefronts selected by the participating non-profit. Qualified business and/or commercial property owners within the targeted area receive matching grants for general repairs/maintenance and for the installation of doors, windows, signs, storefront systems, awnings, and lighting. The non-profit organization provides the business and/or property owners with professional design and construction services throughout the storefront renovation.
