ABOUT THE GRANT
The Downtown Johnson City Micro-Grants provide downtown Johnson City, Tennessee businesses and property owners with annual grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 to help grow, enhance their spaces, and bring new energy to the downtown district. Administered by Connect Downtown Johnson City, Inc., the program awards funding across three categories tailored to different types of downtown investment.
-Business Improvement Grants ($1,500 to $4,000) support improvements to the appearance, functionality, accessibility, or customer experience of a downtown business, including exterior lighting, outdoor seating, façade improvements, ADA upgrades, and interior renovations.
-Business Development Grants ($750 to $3,000) support business growth through new products, services, branding, technology, or other revenue-generating opportunities, including e-commerce tools, pop-up expenses, product launches, equipment, and seasonal expansions.
-Downtown Engagement Grants ($250 to $1,500) support events and experiences that draw people downtown, such as workshops, business-hosted events, customer appreciation events, live music, tastings, and collaborative promotions.
To be eligible, applicants must be current downtown business or property owners within the Main Street Program Area, or new businesses with an executed lease agreement, and all funded projects must take place at a downtown Johnson City location. Grant funds cannot be used for staff or employee wages, insurance premiums, or utility bills. Applications must include proof of estimates or expense quotes, and funded projects must be completed within six months with all receipts and documentation submitted. If total project expenses come in below the awarded grant amount, any remaining funds must be returned within six months.

The BGV Pitch program flips the traditional pitch experience on its head: we coach entrepreneurs, host a live crowdfunded pitch competition, and connect you to community and professionals to support you on your journey. We democratize funding by allowing the audience to vote with their dollars using our Raisify platform for the founders whose pitch they favor. Each founder has 3 minutes to pitch, followed by a 2-minute Q&A with the audience. Winners will receive cash prizes ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, access to the BGV Connect Incubator, and a network of business owners and investors.
Alamo Small Business Grant

The Alamo Small Business Grant Program is available to businesses located in the city of Alamo. It provides 50% reimbursement, up to $2,500, for projects such as storefront improvements, signage, repairs, renovations and equipment purchases. For a business to qualify for the Alamo Small Business Grant, it must have been in operation for a minimum of 24 consecutive months. Also, the business owner must have a yearly lease. In addition to completing an application, owners will need to describe their business, their project and the project budget. Tax returns for the past two years and documented leases from the business's landlord agreeing to the project are also required.

Funding is available to support businesses and property improvements within Baltimore's Downtown Management Authority boundaries. Baltimore has multiple grant programs available for façade improvement and the buildout of storefronts. There are also funds available specifically for both minority-owned businesses and restaurant businesses.
Civil Money Penalty Communicative Technology Grant

Purpose: This grant allows Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) and associations on behalf of facilities to apply for funding for tablets and tablet-related accessories. The tablets will be used for virtual telehealth and family visits for SNF residents. Description: This grant opportunity allows Skilled Nursing Facilities to apply for funding to purchase tablets and tablet-related accessories. Facilities must attest the tablets will be used for facilitating virtual telehealth or family visits for residents. Facilities must be certified through the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Applicants may generally request up to $3,000.00 per facility, however requests beyond $3,000.00 per facility will be accepted and will require CDPH and CMS review.
WV Entrepreneurship and Innovation Investment Fund
WV Economic Development
In order to foster job creation and economic development in West Virginia, and stimulate SBIR and STTR results across the State, the West Virginia Legislature initiated the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Investment (EII) Fund. This money is earmarked to provide a monetary award when a business successfully submits a federal SBIR or STTR proposal and receives a Phase I or Phase II award. The amount of the State matching funds awarded is dependent on the existing balance in the EII Fund at the time of application and is typically not a 100% match. There are two award periods during the year for submitting SBIR/STTR Phase I or II matching fund applications: January and July. No preference will be given to the order in which applications are received. Closed Phase I or II SBIR/STTR projects are not eligible for matching funds. In addition to these Phase I and Phase II award periods, businesses can also apply for a Phase 0 award upon submitting a Phase I SBIR or STTR proposal. These Phase 0 awards are distributed as a $2,500 grant and can be applied for during any month of the year.
