About the Grant

The El Monte Small Business Grant Program offers grants of up to $10,000 with the goal of helping eligible local businesses strengthen their operations, invest in growth and continue serving the community. Eligible businesses are required to be in El Monte, have been operating for at least six months and be in good standing with the city. Funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and previous grant recipients are not eligible to apply again.

The Academic Startup Grant is focused on startups advancing intellectual property from institutions of higher education. Managed by the Academic Innovations team, the objective of the Academic Startup Grant is to provide earlystage funding to academic startups to support one or more critical milestones towards commercialization and to advance the company’s pursuit of follow-on funding. Key milestones include developing the technology past the minimum viable product (MVP) and demonstrating product-market fit, in the DEVELOP stage of startup development. Academic Startup Grants provide funding for up to $25,000.

LA Small Business Launch Grants

The Small Business Mobility Fund Launch Grants, offered by the Los Angeles County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), are designed to help businesses access flexible start-up and scale-up capital to support their business launch and growth. It is part of the County’s broader mission under the Economic Mobility Initiative (EMI) to provide education, technical assistance, mentorship, access to capital, and pathways to sustainable business growth. Launch Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000 to help new entrepreneurs and small businesses in Los Angeles County cover essential start-up and business expansion costs.

Level Up Long Beach Grant
City of Long Beach

Level Up LB is a program designed to propel small businesses towards success and sustainability. This initiative offers entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to connect with essential support resources and undergo comprehensive workshops aimed at crafting new business and marketing plans. Upon completion of the program, participants become eligible to apply for $10,000 grants, empowering them to expand their business capacity and enhance resilience.

Erie County Mini Grant
Erie County

The Mini-Grant is designed to support business and nonprofit programs that serve the Erie County BIPOC community and are experiencing a need for an influx of capital to enable them to continue to serve the BIPOC community. Successful applicants will be able to show that either they or their project, is not eligible for traditional bank financing. The minimum grant offered is $5,000, and the maximum grant is $25,000. Applicants must be for-profit businesses located in Erie County, NY and at least 51% of the ownership is Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color (BIPOC).
