Queens Flash Grants

The Program supports the growth of very small meat and poultry processors in the Commonwealth. It does this by offering grants. The grants cover costs associated with opening a new processing operation or the expansion of a current operation. The grants can also be used to cover the costs of getting a USDA Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) inspection. Grants are limited to no more than $100,000 per applicant.

The City of Raleigh's Building Up-fit Grant encourages growth and development by assisting property owners who want to activate their vacant or underutilized commercial building space in Raleigh to create new business use or new jobs. This matching reimbursement program helps small business owners invest in property improvements, by matching up to 50 percent of the qualified construction costs. Businesses can receive up to $25k of reimbursed funding based on qualified expenses.

The Shawnee Forward Business Growth Grant provides Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma small businesses with 50/50 matching reimbursement grants of up to $20,000 to help fund expansion projects that create new full-time jobs. Administered by Shawnee Forward, the community and economic development organization serving Shawnee and Pottawatomie County, the program is funded through Shawnee Forward investment earnings and partner support. Its purpose is to encourage capital investment that strengthens existing businesses, expands operations, and grows the local economy. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until annual funding is exhausted. Eligible projects include building renovations or expansions, machinery, equipment, or technology purchases, infrastructure improvements, training tied to new jobs, and professional services directly related to the project. Grant funds are limited to approved capital investments and may not be used for payroll, rent, utilities, inventory, working capital, or other operating expenses. Grants may be combined with other funding sources, provided there is no duplication of reimbursement. Expenses incurred before grant approval are not eligible. To qualify, applicants must be a for-profit business located in Pottawatomie County with 50 or fewer full-time employees (both startups and existing businesses are eligible), demonstrate the financial capacity to complete the project, and be current on taxes, licenses, and insurance. The project must create net new full-time jobs before reimbursement is issued. Businesses are limited to one grant. The application process requires a completed application, a project narrative and timeline, a project budget with quotes, and matching funds documentation. Applications are reviewed and scored by Shawnee Forward staff and recommended to the Board for approval, after which a grant agreement is executed. Reimbursement is issued only after the project is completed, documentation is submitted, and eligible expenses and job creation are verified.

The Workplace Accessibility Grant Program promotes employment and economic opportunity for individuals with disabilities through investment in accessible workplaces. It provides a 100% reimbursement for eligible costs up to $5,000 per calendar year. All Rhode Island employers with fewer than twenty-five (25) employees and who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the program guide may apply.

The Local Small Business Expanded Repair/Restore Grant Program provides Portland small businesses with reimbursement grants of up to $25,000 to repair damage caused by break-ins and vandalism, install preventive security improvements, and offset rising insurance costs. Administered by Prosper Portland (the city's economic development agency) the program is designed to help affected businesses remain open and operational while contributing to a healthier street environment across the city. Eligible expenses include exterior repairs such as window and door replacement, graffiti removal, signage repair, gate repair, security system replacement, and exterior lighting; interior repairs (up to $2,500) such as door replacement, counter repair, and furniture/equipment replacement; security and prevention improvements such as cameras, alarm systems, scissor gates, overhead doors, and safes; and increases in business insurance premiums (up to $5,000). To qualify, businesses must hold a current City of Portland business license and Oregon state business registration, operate a customer-facing ground-floor small business or food cart within Portland, have 50 or fewer employees, and maintain consistent hours of operation. Property owners who do not operate the storefront business themselves, businesses in non-commercially-zoned spaces, landlords and property managers, and cannabis-specific businesses are not eligible. Ineligible expenses include inventory replacement, security personnel, mural repainting, lost sales or wages, and any damages already covered by a successful insurance claim. Grants are issued on a reimbursement basis for eligible repairs or improvements completed up to 90 days prior to the application date.
