ABOUT THE GRANT

The City of Brentwood sets aside 20% of its business operating tax revenue for “economic development, with the explicit purpose of business promotion and institutional advertisement for the City of Brentwood.” As part of this effort, each year, the City offers reimbursement grants for local marketing; events; and business development projectsthrough the Economic Development Grant Program.

Any organization or business can apply, if they have a current Brentwood Business License or are exempt from the Business License Requirement. Non‐profit and/or tax‐exempt organizations are also eligible, provided they submit proof of active status from the Secretary of State.

The Enterprise Growth Grants pilot will make up to $35,000 available to for-profit local small businesses, with individual awards expected to range from $1,000 to $25,000. Funding is intended to support projects tied to the economic vitality of Chaffee County (jobs, services, etc.) that are facing financial barriers to growth. An ideal grantee is one who is operating a thriving small, local business that has an opportunity for significant growth in services.

SCRA Acceleration Grant

The South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Member Companies may apply for a variety of non-dilutive grants, each with its own eligibility and review criteria. The objective of the Acceleration Grant is to provide early-stage funding to startups to accelerate a company’s technology and/or business model to the next level of maturity and market readiness. Acceleration Grants provide funding up to $50,000.

Fund Her Future Grant
H&R Block

Fund Her Future, a grant program from Block Advisors by H&R Block, is open to women business owners nationwide. One grand prize winner receives a $50,000 grant, while five additional small businesses get $10,000 each. Winners also receive a year of free small-business services, including bookkeeping, payroll and tax support. To be eligible, you must have an established business that generated a minimum of $20,000 in revenue in 2024.

The AI MicroGrant Program is designed to support startups and small businesses who need small amounts of financial assistance to implement or integrate AI components in their business operations that ultimately lead to broad adoption of AI in the community.

Catalyze: Enabling Technologies and Transformative Platforms for HLBS Research
National Institutes of Health

The goal of the NHLBI Catalyze Program is to provide a comprehensive suite of support and services to facilitate the transition of basic science discoveries into viable diagnostic and therapeutic candidates that have been cleared for human testing, and to develop translational researchers fluent in product development and entrepreneurship. This specific Catalyze Enabling Technologies and Transformative Platforms initiative will support needed to rigorously validate transformative, multi-use platforms or technologies that can enable. Well-suited applications must offer the potential to significantly accelerate and/or transform the areas of early detection and screening, model development, clinical diagnosis, treatment, control, behavior, prevention or epidemiology. Proposed platforms and technologies may have widespread applicability but must be able to improve the outlook for HLBS-related diseases and disorders.
