About the Grant
A new $3.6 million loan and grant program will assist small business with filling vacant storefronts Downtown. These loans will provide capital to underserved markets for those who experience barriers to accessing traditional banking services. Loan amounts will between $25,000-$100,000 with a 4% interest rate for qualifying businesses. In addition, those who qualify for the loan will also receive a grant of $25,000 from the City to support their launch.

Asheboro Small Business Incentive Program

The Small Business Investment Incentive Program aims to assist companies that are too small to receive assistance from the state and federal government grow their workforce, expand into Asheboro, or improve their existing location. The City will be offering two programs. The first program will provide funds for businesses that hire at least 5 new employees at 90% of the county average wage and maintain their role for at least 6 months. The second program will provide funds for eligible projects that improve vacant or underutilized commercial properties. This program will provide up to half the price of improvements for eligible expenses.
SF Storefront Opportunity Grant

The Storefront Opportunity Grant provides a grant between $50,000 - $100,000 to eligible businesses to help offset the cost of their first year of operations. Interested business owners will need to submit an application with a newly signed executed lease on or before Friday, May 29th, 2026.
Path to Prosperity Business Competition

The Path to Prosperity Business Competition is an annual business development competition for businesses with a positive economic, environmental, and community impact on Southeast Alaska. Businesses are judged based on their feasibility and their contributions to community development. The competition includes an in-person training called Entrepreneur Camp (formerly titled Boot Camp). This competition awards $20,000 each to two winning businesses annually. Program awards can be used for consulting, technical assistance, and long-term capital expenditures. One of the two awards will be designated for a STEM- and/or TEK-related business.
DE Modernization Investment Support Initiative Program
Delaware Division of Small Business
The Modernization Investment Support Initiative (MISI) Program gives grants to eligible Delaware businesses that need help modernizing their operations to remain competitive. Eligible businesses can get up to 20% of approved modernization expenses reimbursed, up to $1 million per project. Businesses can use the funds toward equipment and machinery purchases, construction, and engineering services. In order to qualify, businesses need to have an operating history of at least ten years, have a proposed modernization budget of at least $1 million, and demonstrate a need for updates to remain competitive.
