About the Grant

The Skills Enhancement Fund (SEF) provides assistance to businesses to support training and upgrading skills of employees required to support new capital investment. The grant may be provided to reimburse a portion (typically 50%) of eligible training costs over a period of two full calendar years from the commencement of the project.

Grants from the Skills Enhancement Fund must lead to post-secondary credentials, a nationally-recognized industry credential, or specialized company training for both new hires and existing workers, and an increase in wages for existing employees.

Moore County Small Business Impact Grant
MCEDP

This grant provides reimbursement-based microgrants ranging from $500 to $5,000 to help small businesses in Moore County strengthen their operations and contribute to local economic vitality. Eligible businesses include retail, restaurant, and service-based businesses with a current storefront presence in Moore County. Businesses must be locally owned and independently operated, legally incorporated, and have 50 or fewer employees. Grant funds may be used for interior improvements and fixtures, storefront beautification and exterior renovations, equipment purchases, technology upgrades, strategic inventory purchases, marketing and advertising materials, website development and e-commerce platforms, health and safety upgrades, accessibility improvements and workforce development initiatives. “These types of improvements will enhance business sustainability, help create jobs, and revitalize commercial properties throughout Moore County,” said Burich.

Baltimore Downtown Business Grants
City of Baltimore

Funding is available to support businesses and property improvements within Baltimore's Downtown Management Authority boundaries. Baltimore has multiple grant programs available for façade improvement and the buildout of storefronts. There are also funds available specifically for both minority-owned businesses and restaurant businesses.

MEDC’s Industry 4.0 Technology Implementation Grant program will provide 50% reimbursement for qualifying I4.0 technology costs up to $25,000 for eligible Michigan manufacturers.

Newport News E-Commerce Grant Program
City of Newport News

The City of Newport News offers small grants to eligible e-commerce businesses, with a special focus on women-owned and minority-owned e-commerce businesses. Most businesses can get up to $2,500 in grant money; women and minority-owned businesses can get up to $4,500.

Beygood Salon & Barbershop Business Grants
The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund

The Cécred x BeyGOOD Fund is proud to award $10,000 business grants to 37 salon and barbershop business owners who have demonstrated financial hardship. These grants are designed to empower licensed entrepreneurs with the resources they need to grow and thrive. In addition to financial assistance, these grants are designed to provide access to critical business development tools, mentorship and resources provided by The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). The top 40% of non-selected finalists will receive extended support including group coaching and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certification resources.
