ABOUT THE GRANT
The Commissioner Yvette Colbourne's Small Business and Nonprofit Grant provides Miramar, Florida small businesses and nonprofit organizations with up to $5,000 in grant funding to support capacity building, strengthen operations, and stimulate increased business activity. Administered by the City of Miramar's Economic Development and Housing Department and named for Commissioner Yvette Colbourne, the program serves both Mom and Pop small businesses (independently owned and operated with ten or fewer employees) and nonprofit organizations operating under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code. Grant funds may be used for the purchase of machinery and equipment, professional services such as legal, accounting, and marketing, supplies and inventory, technology infrastructure and system upgrades, commercial lease rental deposits, salaries, and other miscellaneous business expenses.
To qualify, applicants must operate within the City of Miramar (either at a commercial location or home-based), have been in operation for at least one year, possess a City of Miramar Business Tax Receipt (and Broward County, if applicable), maintain an active Sunbiz registration showing the current business name, and be current on property taxes if a property owner. All organizations applying for funding are required to attend a grant workshop to review program requirements, and recipients may be asked to provide proof that funds were used for the purposes stated in their application.

In addition to grant funding, selected finalists pitch live at Barclays Center and receive access to investor introductions, capital matchmaking, strategic advisory sessions, and connections to procurement and growth opportunities. Businesses ready to grow, hire, expand their market reach, or deepen their impact in Brooklyn are the program's target applicants.
KY Grant-in-Aid Program
Bluegrass State Skills Corporation
The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation’s Grant-in-Aid Program reimburses businesses in specific industries for the cost of training their employees. Businesses can get a cash grant reimbursement for up to 50% of eligible training costs, up to $75,000.

Each grantee may receive up to $500,000 or a maximum reimbursement of $4,000 per trainee. Funds can be used for work-based learning programs, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, and classroom or virtual instruction.
WI SBIR/STTR Assistance Micro-grant
WI Center for Technology Commercialization
SBIR Assistance micro-grants are aimed at technology and research-based Wisconsin businesses, who intend to apply for SBIR/STTR federal funds. The business‘ SAM registration and SBIR submission must have a WI address. The grants cover reimbursement of costs up to $5000.00, incurred by a business in hiring an independent, approved third-party to assist in the development of federal Phase 1 SBIR/STTR research and development proposal.
