ABOUT THE GRANT

North Miami CRA, an independent government agency, offers a number of commercial grant programs, including the Business Attraction Grant, Beautification and Enhancement Grant, Rehabilitation Grant and Capacity Building/Retention Grant. Grant maximum amounts range from $7,500 to $150,000, depending on the program.

Each program has specific requirements, but general eligibility requirements include that the business be within (or moving to a building within) the designated North Miami geographic boundary and the projects must show benefits to the community. The Business Attraction Grant and the Rehabilitation Grant require a 50% match by the business.

Appleton Business Grants
City of Appleton

The City of Appleton offers multiple grant programs for businesses: The Business Recruitment Grant offers $1,000 boost grants to businesses that need a little extra capital to move downtown or open a new business there. The Façade Improvement Grant offers grants to businesses that need assistance in enhancing their exterior aesthetics. Businesses can receive between $2,500 and $5,000 to use on minor improvements (such as painting and lighting) or facade renovations (like window upgrades).

CT Cybersecurity Adoption Program
Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology

The Cybersecurity Adoption Program (CAP) is designed to support Connecticut manufacturing companies seeking Cyber Security assessments and CMMC Certification. The goal is to help companies striving to meet federal cybersecurity requirements. Up to $10K can used for a Cyber Assessment with the balance allocated to remediation. Eligible companies can apply for grant funding up to $35,000 in total to assist with cyber security assessments and CMMC adoption. Participating companies must pay half the cost. The program is administered by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology with funding provided through the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development's Manufacturing Innovation Fund.

Salt Lake City Construction Mitigation Grant
Salt Lake City

The Small Business Construction Mitigation Grant supports businesses in Salt Lake City that have been negatively impacted by nearby construction sites. Eligible independent merchants in the restaurant, retail, and bar spaces can get grants of $3,000 to put toward rent/mortgage, marketing, business improvements, and more.

StartHER Grant
Texas Women's University

Offered by Texas Woman's University's Center for Women Entrepreneurs, the StartHER grant awards $5,000 to 10 Texas-based businesses. Businesses must be at least 51% women-owned to be eligible. Applications for this year's cycle will run from Aug. 26, 2025 through Sept. 26, 2025.
