Santa Fe Micro-Grant

The Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) is a new incentive program to encourage the continued leadership of Texas in semiconductor research, design and manufacturing. The TSIF will provide grants to state entities and institutions of higher education for semiconductor manufacturing and design projects; and award grants to business entities with an established presence within the state of Texas to encourage economic development related to semiconductor manufacturing and design. The TSIF will provide grants and matching funds to eligible entities for semiconductor research, manufacturing and design projects.

The Sharon Economic Development Grant Fund provides grant funding to startup and existing businesses operating within the City of Sharon, Pennsylvania to help de-risk and accelerate operations, fuel growth, and support the revitalization of the city's downtown. Administered by the Shenango LaunchBox (Penn State Shenango's entrepreneurial support program) on behalf of a partnership between the City of Sharon, Penn State Shenango, and the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, the fund draws from a $2 million endowment created in 2022 (with funds contributed by the City of Sharon's American Rescue Plan dollars and a matching investment by Penn State University), and awards approximately $100,000 in grants to Sharon businesses each year. Individual grant amounts vary based on each business's pitch and the recommendation of the Grant Selection Committee, with recent rounds awarding multiple businesses through a single annual cycle. Priority is given to businesses that align with the City of Sharon's Main Street Model, contribute to the revitalization of the State Street Downtown Improvement District, generate new jobs, and drive travel and tourism to Sharon. To qualify, applicants must have a business presence within the 16146 zip code (City of Sharon). The application process is multi-stage: applicants first submit a Letter of Intent on a rolling basis, then participate in a review and feedback round, complete a pitch coaching session with the Shenango LaunchBox team, and ultimately deliver a 5-minute pitch with Q&A to the Sharon Economic Development Grant Committee, which makes the final funding decision. In addition to grant funding, applicants benefit from free consulting services, pitch coaching, and access to broader Shenango LaunchBox programming, with some past recipients also receiving free legal advice from Penn State Law's Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic and business plan support from the Gannon Small Business Development Center.

The Tribal Tourism Small Business Grant provides up to $10,000 in funding, with no match required, to startup or expanding Native American-owned tourism businesses in Montana. Administered by the Montana Department of Commerce as part of its Indian Country Financial Assistance programs, the grant is available to enrolled citizens (aged 18 or older) of Montana's 12 federally recognized tribes, with approximately 24 awards distributed each fiscal year. Applicants apply under one of five business categories: Native American Made in Montana retail sales products; hosted accommodations or experiences such as vacation rentals or tours; licensed hunting and fishing outfitting or guiding; licensed food, beverage, or grocery businesses such as food trucks; or other operational businesses that supply or serve tribal tourism in Montana.

The Farm Vitality Planning Grant Program helps fund professional services for those planning for the future of a farm—designed to enhance the long-term vitality of Pennsylvania's farms through business planning, efficient transitions of ownership, strategic expansion, diversification of agricultural production, and building a team of financial and technical expertise as a resource for farmers. The grant is $15,000, covering 75% of project costs.

The Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) is available to eligible businesses that create qualified new jobs and/or make qualified new investment in Michigan. “Qualified new job” means a new, full-time job performed by an individual who is either: a resident of this state whose Michigan income taxes are withheld by an employer; or an employee leasing company or professional employer organization on behalf of the employer or an individual who is not a resident of Michigan and is employed by a business at a project location that is located in this state, provided that the business certifies in writing at the time of the MSF disbursement that not less than 75 percent of the employees of that business are residents of Michigan. In both cases, the qualified new job must be in excess of the number of jobs maintained by the qualified business prior to the expansion or location as determined by the MSF.
