About the Grant

The Vibrant Places program supports local businesses that invest in improvements to their exterior appearance, including facades, landscaping, signage, and windows. The goal of the program is to enhance the vibrancy and improve the physical appearance of our commercial, industrial and mixed-use buildings.

Grants range from $1,500-$50K based on business location and project scope. Maximum grant amount: $30K-$50K, depending on the location of the business. Businesses are required to contribute matching funds toward the total project cost. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis. Businesses must cover expenses upfront and request reimbursement after project completion. Not all project components may qualify for reimbursement.

NeighborHUB Grant Program
Detroit Regional Chamber

The NeighborHUB Grant Program supports small business expansion in Detroit, Highland Park, and Hamtramck. Businesses can get up to $15,000 to put toward a business project that improves their neighborhood or community. To qualify, businesses need to have been in operation for at least one year, have fewer than 25 employees, and have less than $500,000 gross revenue in the past year.

Evanston Entrepreneurship Support Grant

The program is intended to assist in the growth of jobs in Evanston Illinois, through entrepreneurship, helping residents and local business owners to create jobs by starting and retaining sustainable small businesses.

WI Dairy Processor Grants
WI Deparment of Agriculture

​The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection administers a Dairy Processor Grant program whose goal is to foster innovation, improve profitability and sustain the long-term viability of Wisconsin’s dairy processing facilities. Eligible applicants must operate a licensed dairy processing plant in Wisconsin engaged in pasteurizing, processing or manufacturing m​ilk or dairy products. Recipients are chosen through a competitive process. A total grant up to $50,000 is available per dairy processor per year. The dairy processor is required to provide a match of at least 20% of the grant amount.​

Philadelphia Fair Chance Hiring Initiative
City of Philadelphia

The FCHI program provides financial incentives to Philadelphia employers who hire local residents returning from incarceration within the last seven years. Eligible employers who hire qualifying employees can receive a $6 per hour wage reimbursement for compensable hours worked up to 960 hours within 180 days of employment and a one-time $500 employment retention grant for each FCHI employee who completes the new hire period.

Englewood Business Initiation Grant
City of Englewood

The Business Initiation Grant provides qualifying, new business startups with a "leg up" at their most critical time. The grant offers up to $5,000 for startup costs to qualified applicants. The entrepreneur is required to participate in a business planning workshop through one of Englewood's economic partners. The business owner must have a fully developed business plan which will be reviewed by the experts at the Aurora-South Small Business Development Center. Grant funding may be used for any valid purpose and a physical storefront or business presence in a commercial or industrial district is required. Capital improvements are permanent investments in the building or on the property, which are generally associated with a building permit. Businesses opened in Englewood within the last 12 months are eligible to apply. Grant funding is limited, and not all businesses that apply may be funded.
