Springfield Small Business Assistance Program

Funding is available to support businesses and property improvements within Baltimore's Downtown Management Authority boundaries. Baltimore has multiple grant programs available for façade improvement and the buildout of storefronts. There are also funds available specifically for both minority-owned businesses and restaurant businesses.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Grant - Provides reimbursement to registered sponsors of collection programs for household hazardous waste, electronics, and tires (but not tire pile cleanups). Reimbursement available for up to 50 percent of eligible costs. Eligible costs typically include collection, transportation and management of the wastes plus education programs. Eligible entities include households, political subdivisions, and small businesses.

The Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) is available to eligible businesses that create qualified new jobs and/or make qualified new investment in Michigan. “Qualified new job” means a new, full-time job performed by an individual who is either: a resident of this state whose Michigan income taxes are withheld by an employer; or an employee leasing company or professional employer organization on behalf of the employer or an individual who is not a resident of Michigan and is employed by a business at a project location that is located in this state, provided that the business certifies in writing at the time of the MSF disbursement that not less than 75 percent of the employees of that business are residents of Michigan. In both cases, the qualified new job must be in excess of the number of jobs maintained by the qualified business prior to the expansion or location as determined by the MSF.

The intent of this program is to assist companies with large-scale capital investment projects that commit to significant job creation for Illinois residents as they relocate or expand operations within Illinois. Business Attraction Prime Sites grants can encompass a wide range of economic development projects and may include infrastructure and capital equipment purchases that will result in job creation in the state of Illinois.

The Harvest to Market Grant provides local food and farm enterprises in eligible rural counties of Kansas and western Missouri with grants of $5,000 to $25,000 to strengthen their post-harvest and go-to-market capacity. Administered by the Heartland Regional Food Business Coalition, the program is supported by a grant from the Patterson Family Foundation and is designed to help local food businesses serve local and regional markets more effectively. Priority is given to investments in processing equipment, distribution equipment, logistics systems, and marketing, with additional consideration for projects that involve multiple farm or food businesses such as pooling products to fulfill larger orders. Eligible applicants include retail food sales outlets, producers, farmers, ranchers, food and farm cooperatives, value-added processors, aggregation and distribution businesses, food hubs, farmers markets, tribal food and farm enterprises, and food and farm business enterprises including school food service. To qualify, businesses must generally have fewer than 50 employees, less than $2 million in annual gross revenue, and a business address within the eligible Patterson Family Foundation catchment area. Nonprofits are not eligible. Grant funds may be used for website and online store development, marketing, feasibility studies, packaging, equipment, alterations of existing buildings or facilities, construction, personnel costs for staff working directly on the project, post-harvest processing (such as washing, cooling, and packing), and further meat processing after slaughter and initial processing. Funds cannot be used for agricultural production inputs like seeds or feed, animal slaughter or initial meat processing steps, building or land acquisition, ongoing operating costs such as rent and utilities, public education or training projects, or basic research and development. The grant operates on a reimbursement basis, with no matching funds required, and projects must be completed within 6 months of the contract start date.
