Springfield Small Business Assistance Program

The Main Street Acquisition Support Grant product is a pilot product under the Main Street Recovery Fund that will offer a grant of up to $50,000 to reimburse an eligible NJ small business for closing costs related to a New Jersey commercial property that the business purchased to operate from.

The Dallas Small Business Assistance Program provides reimbursable grants to Dallas small businesses to help cover the cost of real estate and capital improvements as they grow or move into storefronts and offices within the city. Administered by the City of Dallas Office of Economic Development, the program is structured to incentivize investment in designated Target Areas and projects that create or retain living wage jobs. Maximum award amounts vary by location and job creation commitments: projects outside Target Areas are capped at $100,000, while projects within Target Areas can receive up to $300,000 without a job creation commitment or up to $400,000 with one. Importantly, improvements made before a grant agreement is executed do not count toward the project, so applicants should secure approval before beginning any work.

Through funding from Racine County, a Matching Grant Program (MGP) was established with the goal of providing a means for existing small and medium-sized companies to obtain the professional services necessary for a strong foundation for continued business growth and to provide jobs for Racine County residents. This grant reimburses up to 50% of eligible cost – up to $5,000 per applicant. Additional grants are available specifically to residents of both Burlington and Sturtevant.

The Las Cruces Small Business Safety Improvement Grant Program provides Las Cruces small businesses, qualifying nonprofits, and commercial property owners with reimbursement grants of up to $5,000 to fund security improvements designed to enhance business safety and deter crime. Administered by the City of Las Cruces Economic Development Department in partnership with the Las Cruces Police Department, the program is geographically targeted to two Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs): the El Paseo/South Solano MRA and the W. Picacho and Motel Boulevard MRA. Eligible security improvements include security cameras, locks, doors, door and window sensors, outdoor lighting, and fencing. To qualify, businesses and nonprofits must be independently owned, have 40 or fewer full-time employees, and be located within the eligible MRA boundaries. Commercial property owners located within the MRAs are also eligible to apply. Grants are issued on a first-come, first-served basis as a reimbursement, meaning applicants must complete their improvements and pay upfront before submitting for reimbursement. In addition to grant funding, participating businesses can access free Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) assessments through the Las Cruces Police Community Outreach Unit, which include on-site safety evaluations, crime prevention recommendations such as landscaping changes and Neighborhood Watch coordination, and connections to community safety training resources.

The Lake Dallas Business Improvement Grant (BIG) Program offers commercial property owners in Lake Dallas a 1:1 matching grant of up to $10,000 to fund exterior improvements that enhance the appearance of their storefronts and premises. Administered by the Lake Dallas Community Development Corporation (LDCDC), the program is designed to strengthen the city's commercial corridors by helping property owners renovate, restore, or add features such as building facades, signage, lighting, windows, doors, awnings, and landscaping. Eligible improvements also include cleaning, repainting, re-bricking, accessibility upgrades, and the construction of new appropriately-scaled storefronts on existing buildings. In addition to financial assistance, city staff provide free technical guidance during the conceptual stage to help applicants plan improvements that align with the city's design standards. Grants are issued as reimbursements after the project is completed and receipts have been reviewed.
