State Forty Eight Foundation Entrepreneur Grant
State Forty Eight Foundation
ABOUT THE GRANT
The State Forty Eight Foundation Entrepreneur Grant Program awards Arizona small business owners with grants of up to $10,000 from an annual pool of $50,000 in total grant funding. Administered by the State Forty Eight Foundation, an Arizona-based nonprofit focused on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit across the state, the grant program is designed to help Arizona founders turn insight into investment in their businesses by pairing meaningful capital with the community and connections built during the Foundation's annual Entrepreneur Speaker Series.
Eligibility for the grant is tied to participation in the Entrepreneur Speaker Series, a two-day event held annually in Phoenix that brings together Arizona founders, executives, and industry leaders for expert-led sessions on financial discipline, entrepreneur mental health and resilience, marketing strategy, and customer experience. The series is free to attend, with both in-person and virtual livestream options available. To qualify for the grant program, attendees must attend at least one of the two days live (in person or virtually), complete one post-session survey after their attended session, and submit a grant application through the Foundation's online portal.
Past grant recipients have used their awards to fund a wide range of business investments, from equipment and inventory to marketing and expansion projects. Grant Info Sessions (virtual workshops for interested applicants) are typically offered ahead of the application deadline, though attendance at these workshops is not required for grant eligibility. Applications are evaluated against a published grading rubric available through the Foundation's website.

NOTES
This one comes with a small string attached. To be eligible for the grant, you have to attend at least one of the two days of the State Forty Eight Foundation's annual Entrepreneur Speaker Series (either in person in Phoenix or via free virtual livestream), fill out a post-session survey, and then submit the grant application. The event itself is free and virtual attendance counts, so not a big lift. But note that the speaker series happens before the grant application window opens, so if you're finding this listing after the event dates have passed, you likely won't be able to qualify for the current cycle. If that's the case, keep this one on your radar for next year, since the Foundation runs this program annually.

The program runs from 2025 through 2028 with $1 million awarded each year across up to three application rounds, and is a successor to the earlier Purple Line Construction Zone Grant Program. Grant funds may be used for a wide range of business expenses, including payroll and healthcare benefits, contract labor, working capital, rent or mortgage payments, supplier payments, machinery and equipment, and utilities.
