ABOUT THE GRANT
The Commercial Energy Efficiency Grants provide small businesses and nonprofits in Charlottesville (with limited availability in Albemarle County) with up to $5,000 in incentive funding to make energy-saving upgrades to their location. Administered by the Community Climate Collaborative (C3) in partnership with the City of Charlottesville, with additional private-donor funding available for Albemarle organizations, the program is structured across three tiers of qualifying improvements, with each tier capped by both a dollar amount and a percentage of project cost, whichever is lower.
Level 1 (Insulation and Weatherization) provides up to $1,000 or 50 percent of project cost and covers weather stripping, storm windows, attic insulation, and air-sealing. Level 2 (Small Business Improvements) provides up to $1,500 or 30 percent of project cost and covers LED lighting fixtures and sensors, solar window film, refrigeration improvements, and programmable thermostats. Level 3 (HVAC and Appliances) provides up to $2,000 or 30 percent of project cost and covers HVAC heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and Energy Star appliances. Nonprofit applicants can add up to $500 to any level in excess of the cost cap. Level 2 measures match Dominion Energy's Small Business Improvement Program, so utility rebates from Dominion stack on top of the C3 incentive to further reduce out-of-pocket costs.
To qualify, applicants must qualify as a small business under the Code of Virginia (or as an equivalent nonprofit), be headquartered with a physical location in Charlottesville or Albemarle, and operate no more than three physical locations in the area. Home-based businesses are not eligible. Before accessing the grant, organizations must first receive an energy walkthrough performed by C3 or another certified contractor to identify eligible upgrades.

The State Forty Eight Foundation Entrepreneur Grant Program awards Arizona small business owners with grants of up to $10,000 from an annual pool of $50,000 in total grant funding. Administered by the State Forty Eight Foundation, an Arizona-based nonprofit focused on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit across the state, the grant program is designed to help Arizona founders turn insight into investment in their businesses by pairing meaningful capital with the community and connections built during the Foundation's annual Entrepreneur Speaker Series. Eligibility for the grant is tied to participation in the Entrepreneur Speaker Series, a two-day event held annually in Phoenix that brings together Arizona founders, executives, and industry leaders for expert-led sessions on financial discipline, entrepreneur mental health and resilience, marketing strategy, and customer experience. The series is free to attend, with both in-person and virtual livestream options available. To qualify for the grant program, attendees must attend at least one of the two days live (in person or virtually), complete one post-session survey after their attended session, and submit a grant application through the Foundation's online portal. Past grant recipients have used their awards to fund a wide range of business investments, from equipment and inventory to marketing and expansion projects. Grant Info Sessions (virtual workshops for interested applicants) are typically offered ahead of the application deadline, though attendance at these workshops is not required for grant eligibility. Applications are evaluated against a published grading rubric available through the Foundation's website.
Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund

The Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) is a new incentive program to encourage the continued leadership of Texas in semiconductor research, design and manufacturing. The TSIF will provide grants to state entities and institutions of higher education for semiconductor manufacturing and design projects; and award grants to business entities with an established presence within the state of Texas to encourage economic development related to semiconductor manufacturing and design. The TSIF will provide grants and matching funds to eligible entities for semiconductor research, manufacturing and design projects.
Secondary Analysis and Integration of Existing Data to Elucidate Cancer Risk and Related Outcomes

Through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), the National Cancer Institute (NCI) along with other participating Institutes encourages submission of applications proposing to conduct secondary data analysis and integration of existing datasets and database resources, with the ultimate aim to elucidate cancer risk and related outcomes (e.g., risk prediction or reduction, survival, or response to treatment, etc.). The goal of this initiative is to address key scientific questions relevant to cancer by supporting the analysis of existing clinical, environmental, surveillance, health services, vital statistics, behavioral, lifestyle, genomic, and molecular profiles data. Applicants are encouraged to leverage and perform innovative analyses of the existing data. Applications may include new research aims that are being addressed with existing data, new or advanced methods of analyses, or novel combinations and integration of datasets that allow the exploration of important scientific questions in cancer research.

The Wilkes EDC Entrepreneur Grant Program offers funds to support Existing Business Expansions and those planning to Start a Business in Wilkes County, where businesses have the potential to win up $6,000! Applicants submit a simple business plan and a financial summary that outline how the grant funds will be used to grow or launch their business. Additionally, you’ll create a 3-minute pitch video explaining your request. Grant recipients can receive up to $6,000 through the Entrepreneur Grant Program. Funds will be available for withdrawal within one year of the award date. To access the grant, recipients must provide receipts or documentation of purchased items or services approved by the program’s judging panel. Once reviewed and approved by Wilkes EDC, the funds will be released.
