ABOUT THE GRANT
The Prudential Community Grants Program provides Newark, New Jersey small businesses, individuals, and nonprofit organizations with microgrants of up to $2,500 (for individuals and small business owners applying as individuals) or up to $5,000 (for 501(c)(3) organizations or those with a fiscal sponsor) to support projects that create vibrancy in Newark's neighborhoods. Administered in collaboration between Prudential Financial, a global financial services company headquartered in Newark, and the Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ), the program recognizes that local changemakers and business owners often have the solutions to strengthen their neighborhoods but frequently lack access to the financial resources needed to bring those ideas to life. To qualify, applicants must create neighborhood-level impact in the city of Newark, be willing to share impact stories including photos or videos as a result of the funding, be able to identify how the funding will be utilized, and secure a Statement of Community Support from a community resident as part of the application. Small business owners are required to apply as individuals rather than as businesses (small businesses, including brick-and-mortar entities, remain eligible under the individual track). Each applicant is limited to one application per cycle. Previous Prudential Community Grants Program awardees are eligible to reapply, but other Prudential grantees are not eligible for this specific program.

The Detroit Legacy Business Project

The Detroit Legacy Business Project provides financial and technical assistance to small businesses that have operated continuously in Detroit for 30 or more years and have meaningfully contributed to the city's cultural identity through their products, services, and community engagement. Administered by the City of Detroit in partnership with the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC), the program offers tiered grant funding designed to help longstanding businesses make capital improvements, modernize operations, and remain rooted in their neighborhoods. Awards include $50,000 citywide grants, $15,000 district grants (with two awarded in each of Detroit's seven City Council districts per round), and microgrants of $2,500 and $5,000 disbursed at staff discretion to cover smaller projects with a streamlined application process. Grant funds may be used for product inventory, equipment and machinery, furniture and fixtures, software subscriptions, building repairs and renovations, façade and exterior beautification, and professional services such as branding, marketing, financial, legal, and architectural support. Eligible applicants must be independently owned and operated, headquartered in Detroit, open to the public, and able to document at least 30 years of continuous operation in the city.

If you’re a woman business owner in Florida, New York or Texas, we invite you to enter the contest by completing the online application form and submitting a 3-minute video telling us about your business and how your business would benefit from $15,000. Ten semi-finalists will be selected from all eligible entries and will have the opportunity to present their business during the first round of judging at a live event in Fort Lauderdale, FL
Cartier Women's Initiative Awards

Every year, Cartier awards three grants to women-owned businesses in nine different regions around the world. The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards program is designed to support early-stage businesses that are focused on a range of social, economic and environmental development issues. The first-place business is awarded a $100,000 grant, second place receives $60,000 and third place gets $30,000. Winners also receive executive coaching and the opportunity to participate in a variety of training workshops.
Clackamas County Tourism Business Grant
Clackamas County
The Clackamas County Tourism Business Grant Program provides Clackamas County tourism-related businesses with grants of up to $100,000 to fund projects that help them grow and enhance the visitor experience. Administered by the Clackamas County Office of Economic Development in partnership with the Office of Tourism, the program is a one-time, $1 million initiative structured around two funding tracks of $500,000 each: a Small Business Acceleration Track, which supports capital investments, physical improvements, and workforce development projects for small tourism businesses; and a Technical & Professional Services Track, which supports more established businesses with projects requiring specialized expertise to remove barriers to growth. Eligible applicants must operate a tourism-related business located in Clackamas County, defined as one whose products, services, or operations contribute to the local travel and tourism economy and that appeals to visitors traveling from 50 or more miles away. The Small Business Acceleration Track is open to either existing small businesses (registered for 2+ years with 10 or fewer employees) or early-stage ventures (registered for less than 3 years with 3 or fewer employees including founders), and requires a minimum 25% match of total project cost. National franchises and chains are not eligible, except for lodging businesses. Funds may be used for capital investment (equipment, software, physical assets), physical improvements (property upgrades, expansion, new locations), or workforce projects (staff training, new permanent hires, converting part-time to full-time roles), with all projects required to demonstrably improve visitor experience or accessibility.
