About the Grant

The South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA) Member Companies may apply for a variety of non-dilutive grants, each with its own eligibility and review criteria.

The Academic Startup Grant is focused on startups advancing intellectual property from institutions of higher education. Managed by the Academic Innovations team, the objective of the Academic Startup Grant is to provide earlystage funding to academic startups to support one or more critical milestones towards commercialization and to advance the company’s pursuit of follow-on funding. Key milestones include developing the technology past the minimum viable product (MVP) and demonstrating product-market fit, in the DEVELOP stage of startup development.

Academic Startup Grants provide funding for up to $25,000.

Note: This grant requires joining the SCRA as a member company. Memberhsip is free but requires an application review.

Member Companies deemed eligible to apply for SCRA Grant Funding opportunities will be invited by their assigned manager, who will advise them during the process. It is important to note that while acceptance as an SCRA Member Company qualifies you for consideration for funding, it does not guarantee approval.

The purpose of the Montana SBIR/STTR Matching Funds Program is to foster job creation and economic development in the state by providing matching grants to eligible businesses meeting the criteria set forth in these guidelines. The Montana SBIR/STTR Matching Funds Program is designed to award grant funds to Montana companies that have been awarded a Small Business Innovation Research Program or Small Business Technology Transfer Program (Federal SBIR/STTR Program) Phase I award and that, if the opportunity to do so is available, intend to apply for a Federal SBIR/STTR Program Phase II award. The State may provide up to $30,000 to businesses that have received a Phase 1 award, referred to as Stage 1 funds. Additionally, the business may be able to apply for an additional $30,000 towards the completion of Phase 2 project, referred to as Stage 2 funds. Businesses must have received a Stage 1 award in order to apply for a Stage 2 funds.

Hawaii Manufacturing Assistance Program
Hawaii Technology Development Corporation

HTDC’s Manufacturing Assistance Program (MAP) offers Hawaiʻi-based manufacturers up to a 20% reimbursement (up to $100,000) on qualified expenses to help Hawaiʻi manufacturers enhance productivity, competitiveness, and growth in Hawai‘i’s manufacturing sector.

VA Supply Chain Optimization Program
Virginia Economic Development Partnership

The Supply Chain Optimization Program is designed to help Virginia businesses looking to improve their supply chain processes to pursue exporting initiatives. Eligible companies can apply for up to $10,000 in reimbursement for expenses associated with supply chain enhancement. Companies also receive expert guidance on supply chain mapping, transportation, import compliance, and more.

Innovative Screening Approaches and Therapies for Screenable Disorders in Newborns
National Institutes of Health

This FOA encourages research relevant to the development of novel screening approaches and/or therapeutic interventions for potentially fatal or disabling conditions that have been identified through newborn screening, as well as for "high priority" genetic conditions where screening may be possible in the near future.Having an accurate screening test, as well as demonstrating the benefits of early intervention or treatment, are important criteria for including a condition on a newborn screening panel. This FOA defines a "high priority" condition as one where screening is not currently recommended, but infants with the condition would significantly benefit from early identification and treatment.

MD Build Our Future Grant
Maryland Department of Commerce

The Build Our Future Grant Pilot Program and Fund (Fund) is a financing resource operated by the Maryland Department of Commerce (Commerce), to provide grants for innovation infrastructure projects intended to support innovation in an eligible technology sector. Grant awards may be used to defray the cost a grantee incurs to acquire, construct, rehabilitate, install, improve, or equip an eligible innovation infrastructure project.
