ABOUT THE GRANT
The City of Taylor Downtown Business Grants provide small businesses in Downtown Taylor, Texas with a suite of grant programs designed to support existing storefronts, activate outdoor spaces, drive collaborative events, and attract new businesses to the district. Administered by the City of Taylor's Downtown Department and Main Street Program, the grants are part of a broader $500,000 investment in downtown Taylor that also includes streetscape improvements to Heritage Square Park, new bike racks and trash cans, street resurfacing, and restoration of the city's historic wood brick roadway.
Eligibility is limited to businesses located within the downtown Taylor district. The program is offered through four distinct grant tracks tailored to different types of investment.
-The Front Porch Package Grant helps existing downtown businesses pay for storefront-facing items and improvements such as rocking chairs, floral displays, signs, and other exterior investments that enhance the character and inviting appearance of downtown Taylor.
-The Stay-A-While Grant funds the installation of outdoor seating and gathering spaces at downtown businesses, encouraging visitors to linger, socialize, and spend more time in the district.
-The Multi-Business Event Grant supports collaborative events involving multiple downtown businesses, funding joint activations and shared promotions that draw visitors to the district and drive foot traffic across participating storefronts.
-The Economic Development Recruitment Grant provides matching reimbursements of up to $50,000 to help attract new retail, restaurant, and entertainment businesses to downtown Taylor. Grant funds are designed to offset build-out costs such as HVAC, plumbing, and permitting, with a total program pool of $100,000 available.

The Inclusive Beauty Fund will award 12 grants of $25,000 each to beauty businesses and entrepreneurs across the United States–including extension artists, braiders, aestheticians, barbers, salon owners, suite owners, students, and stylists. The grants will be administered in partnership with the NAACP's Economic Empowerment Fund and Hispanic Federation through Deed, a leading social impact platform. Open to all, the goal of the program is to support all members of the beauty industry with a focus small business growth and increasing overall economic opportunity.
Atchison Business Improvement Grant
Atchison County
The ACDC Business Improvement Grant provides existing Atchison County, Missouri businesses with reimbursed matching grants of up to $2,500 to fund improvement projects that support business growth and development. Administered by the Atchison County Development Corporation (ACDC) and funded through the county's quarter-cent economic development sales tax, the program offers two funding levels: a Basic grant, which reimburses up to 50% of eligible improvement costs to a maximum of $1,000, and a 2.0 grant, which reimburses up to one-third of eligible costs to a maximum of $2,500. Since 2013, the program has assisted with more than 182 projects, leveraging ACDC funds to complete over $1 million in business improvements countywide. Any Atchison County business that is current on taxes and licensure may apply, with businesses eligible for one ACDC grant per location every three years. Projects must be approved before work begins, and grants are issued as reimbursements after completion. Applications are reviewed by a grant committee on a monthly basis and accepted in the order received until all available funds have been awarded.
Waynesboro Building Improvement Grant

The Building Improvement Grant is an annual, competitive, reimbursable grant available for businesses in the downtown and East Main Street qualifying area to make improvements to the front of their buildings. Based on annual appropriation from City Council, the grant program is announced in July of each year with applications due in September. Applications are reviewed and scored with grantees announced in late September of each year. There are two categories of improvements: façade or landscaping, offering up to $5,000 in funding.
Romeoville Startup Grant
Village of Romeoville
The Romeoville Small Business Grant Program provides Romeoville, Illinois small businesses with grants of up to $5,000 to help offset startup and operating costs for businesses opening in a brick-and-mortar location within the village. Administered by the Village of Romeoville, the program was recently approved by the Village Board and is designed to make it easier for aspiring entrepreneurs to launch and grow their businesses in Romeoville's commercial spaces. In addition to the direct grant, the program also provides fee waivers for business license fees, inspection fees, and building permit fees associated with tenant buildouts, effectively lowering the total cost of opening a new location. Grant funds may be used for a range of eligible business expenses, including startup costs, planning expenses, general operating expenses, equipment and inventory purchases, and other similar business needs. To qualify, applicants must operate a business with a physical location in a commercial building within Romeoville, generate no more than $1 million in annual revenue, and employ five or fewer people.
