Pathway to Opportunity is a competition designed to connect small businesses with corporations seeking to expand their supply chain with innovative products and services. Through Pathway to Opportunity, we aim to do more than provide a seat at the table—we strive to open doors and build relationships that can lead to long-term, sustainable contracts. Finalists are selected to pitch their businesses in front of a virtual audience, and three winners receive prizes of $5,000.

A skilled workforce is essential to accelerating our economic recovery. The Chicagoland Chamber is committed to helping the region’s companies equip their employees with the skills needed to grow, thrive, and succeed. Since 2019, more than 93 companies have participated in this program, resulting in 3,325 employees expanding their skill sets. Whether you work with one of our training providers, have an existing trainer you like to work with, or conduct internal training using company staff, you may be eligible to receive a 50% reimbursement through this program.

The Technical Skills Training grant was first developed in 2020 in response to the economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program supported new and expanding accelerated skilled workforce training programs for displaced workers. The Technical Skills Training grant program aims to offset the cost for program providers and employers in their effort to support the development of highly trained skilled workers to meet the demands of our labor market.

The city of Westminster, CO has multiple grant programs available for small businesses. These include training grants of $500-$5,000 for both employees and entrepreneurs for classrom and on-the-job training. They also have multiple improvement grants which reimburse business expenses spent on sustainability and facade upgrades. These programs are updated regularly so follow our link to the grant page for details on the current offerings.

This program by the small business coaching, funding and risk monitoring company Breva offers a $5,000 small business grant every quarter to “an entrepreneur who is having a positive impact in an underrepresented community.” Applicants must have demonstrated that impact through something like job creation, product innovation or improved accessibility.
